Pieta 50/50 fundraiser limited edition prints.

During the first Lockdown I found it incredibly difficult to make any work. In talking to other artists and writers I discovered I wasn’t alone. As the months passed I wondered if I’d ever get back to work in my studio. Slowly, the clouds seemed to lift, and I finally got some inspiration to make some drawings, etchings and drypoint prints. I was lucky; some people still haven’t managed to resume their creative lives.

As the months passed, there have been many stories of people who just couldn’t bear the isolation of life with COVID-19 and, sadly, felt life wasn’t worth living. I know how they feel; it is truly dreadful not to have hope.

Seamus Heaney’s quote “If we winter this one out, we can summer anywhere”, seems particularly apt during such strange days. They certainly helped me in darker moments.

With this in mind, I have decided to make two handmade limited edition dry point prints which will be available at €100 each, with €50 from every print sold going to Pieta House. The print has this quote as its title. I am thrilled to say that Marie Heaney is happy for me to use these wonderful words.
